Neelima is a lifelong student of spirit whose profound reverence for nature’s inherent wisdom provides the thread that weaves through her biography.
She's been a practitioner and teacher of various natural healing modalities, ranging from therapeutic massage and ayurveda to essential oils.
She has long studied esoteric and meditative traditions from many cultures, both in traditional settings and academia.
She has studied with well-respected herbalists and joined the effort to protect at-risk and endangered medicinal plants.
As an educator on essential oils for body/mind/spirit health and the importance of a toxin-free environment, she helps others connect the dots between ingredients and well-being.
As a community gardener growing fresh organic produce, she formed a strong relationship with soil and the many unseen elements of a healthy landscape.
This love of the land became an inquiry into ways to live in greater harmony with nature. When Jenn introduced her to the ideas and practices of permaculture, she began to envision a life that revolved around this mindful relationship with land.
In early 2019 Neelima received what can only be described as a calling to tend bees (unexpected, because she thought she was afraid of them). It was soon clear that she was being led to investigate instinct-honoring and restorative methods, which she shortly discovered through Biodynamics.
Early on, Jennifer had the great fortune of being heavily exposed and deeply akin to Nature. Growing up with a father who was first a forester, then a landscape architect and nurseryman, “Nurture through Nature” was the treasured backbone of childhood.
Later, after occupation in commercial decorative arts, and interior design, she returned to her roots in the Earth. The best of both worlds combined into what felt natural to her, Design and Nature, creating sanctuary.
Growing ornamental and edible landscapes, habitats, and spaces of beauty for the human to rejuvenate, and wildlife to be supported, the spirit of the land honored, just felt fitting. Permaculture and Biodynamics further enlivened and filled in the picture, direction and visions.
Over the years, natural health and medicine crept in, first inspired through a bout with a health issue. It just made sense, and healing happened. A passion for plants as powerful medicine came to the forefront. Herbs, essential oils, a plant rich diet, and more became a daily part of life, in practice, study and in offerings.
Always a foodie, and playing in the kitchen ~ combining her love of growing, preparing and sharing delicious, vibrant food is indeed a happy place. There can be a way to eat food, that heals the planet, and nourishes the body, senses and soul.
As a guardian of Earth, and lover of beauty, it is her heart’s calling to live a rewarding life in service to and honor of the Earth: her beings, human and all others, seen and unseen ~ Our effort to call in, foster and further a harmonious world, in which all can thrive.
