The Community Supported Beekeeping Program unites landowners interested in supporting bees with beekeepers dedicated to their restorative care, through the expansion of pollinator-friendly forage and the installation of swarm-inhabited hives.
Hive Hosts are individuals or organizations who demonstrate their support of our work by hosting one or more hives on their property, which are cared for by our bee-tenders. Hive hosts have the opportunity to learn-along with their bee-tender, and to host special events centered on the bees' cycle of the year (such as swarm season or honey harvest).
Forage Fosters are community members who dedicate a portion of their land to healthful forage for honeybees and other pollinators- either in anticipation of becoming a Hive Host or as a gesture of loving support to the bees, the landscape, and the Earth.

Swarm Collectors are community members who respond to calls about swarm sightings. They gently collect the bees and transport them to the site of the Host Hive that will be offered to them.

Our bee-tenders are restorative beekeepers who've been trained in the methods and philosophy taught at Spikenard Honeybee Sanctuary.
